Looking up what happened on “this day in history” on
my birthday, I found a disgraceful 1864 episode in the
relations between the US army and the Native Americans.
With by the far the longest title of any piece I’ve written
so far, I give you,
In memory of 400 Cheyenne and
Arapahoe Indians who were cowardly massacred by troops
under General Chivington, after said Indians had already
surrendered.
This uses my Butch Hall F# Padouk flute and a Scott August
model Anasazi flute at the end. All synthesizers are U-he
Zebra, and my Godin fretless bass supplies the low
frequencies.
