• Cello Mello A gentle piece. Lots of SampleTank, an ES2 pad. Not much in the way of effects: Emagic's Delay on the piano, Spreader on the Rhodes and saxes, Elemental Audio Systems' Eqium on the master. (July 2003)
• Organanism A demo for DashSignature's ComboSister transistor organ VST. Decidedly not a B3 emulation! This track has 6 ComboSisters; the drums are Plugsound volume 3 compressed through Block Fish; the bass is a SonicImplants soundfont of a fingered Alembic. The first organ you hear has Emagic Spreader over it, the last one Emagic Tape Delay; the rest is at most EQ'ed with Elemental Audio Systems' Eqium. (August 2003)
• Ride A deliberate attempt at a frantic and busy piece. ES2 lead, ES1 bass, ES-E pad (yes there is one), EVP73, PlugSound vol. 2 guitars, PlugSound vol. 3 drums and percussion, SampleTank choir. No effects to speak of. (October 2003)
• Toys My entry for the november 2003 kvr-vst competition. Vibes from Gmedia's Mtron, drums from PlugSound volume 3 mutilated by ReFX trasher, and four or so basses from SpectraSonics' Trilogy. It got a a vote or two. (November 2003).
• Ride (Refried) A remix by George Fox of my Ride tune. Kvr discussion (January 2004)
• Fantasy, the G rated version and the X rated version. A recent issue of Computer Music magazine came with a cover CD of rather exciting, eh, inspiring samples. I used them in a nice mellow somewhat jazzy piece. ES 2 pad (bog standard factory preset: PWM Softpad PK), PlugSound volume 2 for guitars and volume 3 for drums. Basses by SpectraSonics' Trilogy. And if you ask more I'll just claim that Scott made me do it. (November 2003)
• Lucky Guy, a cover of the Todd Rundgren song as my entry for the December 2003 kvr competition. Mda piano, epiano; Trilogy bass. (December 2003). Someone actually gave me a vote.
• Fly Weft, my competition entry for February 2004. Plugsound drums and guitars, strings by GMedia M-Tron. I scored an amazing 9th out of 30-plus entries.
• Holiday on Alcatraz Island, the Long version and the Short version, my competition entry for March 2004 and an extended version thereof. Applied Acoustics Tassman strings, SpectraSonics' Trilogy bass, Plugsound drums mutilated by KTGranulator. Harp, piano, organ (the last 2 only in the full version) from Garritan Personal Orchestra.

Tutorials

Logic is complicated, and the manual is not always very insightful. Here are my own notes.

• Software instruments are a bit tricky, especially multi-timbral ones and multi-channel ones. Here's all I know about them.

• Cycling mode is useful for "trying until you get the solo right", or for pushing notes into place. Here are some tips to make life easier for you.
